Welcome to the Registration Page for the Longwoods War of 1812 Education Day on May 2nd, 2008, held at the Longwoods Conservation Area from 10am until 2pm.  This page is designed for teachers of grades seven and eight so that they can register their classes to attend this one-day event.  Please read the information below before proceeding to fill out the registration form.

Important Education Day Information:

The Longwoods Conservation Area and the Upper Thames Military Reenactment Society can only accomodate a certain number of children.  Registration will be on a first come, first served basis.  Those beyond our capacities will be placed on a waiting list and contacted if space opens.

In addition, groups will be asked to sign up for which stations they wish to attend.  Groups will be sent a complete list of stations when they register, but your selections will not be confirmed until a deposit is received.

The cost per student attending education day is $7.  A deposit of 50% will be due on April 1st and the balance will be due on arrival.  Cheques should be made out to 'Longwoods Heritage Days'
Cheques should be sent to:
  Longwoods Heritage Days
  695 Berkshire Drive,
   London, Ontario
  N6J 3S4

Please be as accurate as possible when telling us how many students you will have attending.  Because we always have schools on the waiting list, we will require the final number of students you will have attending by Monday, April 28th at 5:00pm.  If you have not updated your numbers by that time, you will be charged for the number of students you intially registered.

Education Day is held outside, rain or shine at the Longwoods Conservation Area (for directions, please see our Battle of Longwoods page) from 10am until 2pm.  Please ensure students are dressed and prepared for all forms of weather.

Education Day involves students moving through presentations that give them different perspectives on the War of 1812.  Each registered teacher will be sent a template for a booklet with questions relating to the War of 1812.  They will be able to answer most of the questions from the presentations.

Students should bring a litterless packed lunch.  There is nowhere to buy food at the Conservation area.

For any questions regarding Education Day, contact Chris McKay or Glenn Stott at 519-828-3843.
